Abstract (EN)

Assesment of the Changes on cVEMP Responses for Vestibular Efferent System Effects on Normal Individual and Migraine Diagnosed Patients The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of visual stimuli on cVEMP responses in healthy individuals and migraine patients. Total of 68 individuals were included in the study including healthy individuals, migraine patients with aura and migraine patients without aura. The cVEMP test was performed with pursuit and optokinetic stimuli all patients. In the healthy individuals, cVEMP test with left optokinetic stimulus compared to cVEMP test without visual stimulation showed significant difference was between P1N1 latencies both left and right side, in N1 amplitude on the right side, when optokinetic stimulus was given to the right, a significant difference was found in P1N1 latency on the left side, when pursuit stimulus was given, there was a significant difference in both N1 and P1N1 latencies on the right and left side (p<0.05). When optokinetic stimulus was given to the left, in the group with migraine with aura, there was a significant difference in P1 latency on the right, when pursuit stimulus was given, there was a significant difference in P1 latency and P1N1 amplitude on the left side (p <0.05). When optokinetic stimulus was given to the right, in the group with migraine without aura, there was a significant difference in P1 latency on the right and left sides, N1 latency on the right side, when optokinetic stimulus was given to the left side there was a significant difference in P1 latency on the right side, when pursuit stimulus was given, there was a significant difference in P1 latency on the left side (p<0.05). When optokinetic stimulus was given to the right, in the group with migraine with aura compared to migraine without aura, there was a significant difference in P1 and P1N1 amplitude on the left side (p<0.05).As a result; it was seen that the pursuit and optokinetic stimuli given during cVEMP test caused central vestibular modulation in healthy individuals causing prolonged cVEMP latencies while the same effect was not seen in migraine patients.
