Abstract (EN)
This cross-sectional research was conducted to examine the presence of insulin resistance and diet inflammatory index scores of menopausal women who had their bone mineral density measured at the Radiology Polyclinic of 29 Mayıs State Hospital. 167 voluntary menopausal women over the age of 35 (normal: 61, 36.5%; overweight: 52, 31.2%; obese: 54, 32.3%) participated in the study. With the survey form, general information about women, nutritional habits, 24-hour dietary recall method and calcium frequency questionary information were obtained, blood findings were obtained from patient files, and anthropometric measurements were taken. The average age of women in the normal, overweight and obese groups is: 59.8±7.6 years, 60.5±7.3 years, 62.8±7.2 years, respectively (p>0.05). It was determined, women in the obese group intake more daily energy and carbohydrates than women with normal BMI (p<0.05). The incidence of insulin resistance in the obese group is higher than in the normal BMI group (p = 0.038). The average DII values of individuals with normal BMI are higher than those in the obese group (p>0.05). Dietary inflammatory index score, Homa-IR, BMI and calcium intake variables were found to have significant effects on bone mineral density (R=0,904, p<0,01). As a result of the study, bone mineral density of postmenopausal women increased as BMI increased. No relationship was found between insulin resistance and bone mineral density. Key Words: Bone mineral density, dietary inflammatory index, insulin resistance obesity, postmenopausal women.
