Abstract (EN)

Teacher attitudes and behaviors towards increasing student motivation, performance and success have an important place in the education process. In this context, this research examined the encouraging role and impact of teachers on students' academic success. Using a qualitative research design in the study, data were collected with semi-structured interview technique from 14 teachers working in a private secondary school and high school and were subjected to content analysis. Research shows grit plays a role in student success. Students show higher motivation when they are encouraged, and this reflects positively on their success. Additionally, people's encouraging approaches increase students' self-confidence and are reflected in their academic performance. As a result, the effect of courage and teacher encouragement on student success is explained in my study, and the importance of the encouragement method in education is pointed out. In the light of the findings obtained from the research, suggestions are given on how to adapt courage to the field of education and how teachers and administrators can encourage students in this context.
