Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of teaching with interactive PowerPoint slides to teach 6th grade science and technology course "Electrical Conduction" unit on students' academic achievement, problem solving skills and attitudes towards science course was investigated in comparison to the teaching activities carried out in accordance with noninteractive PowerPoint slides. For the study, two 6th grade classes, one control and one experimental group, were selected from state secondary school, Kastamonu. An achievement test with 20 questions regarding electrical conduction unit, an attitude test with 22 items and a problem solving inventory with 24 items were used as data collection tools. While Electrical Conduction unit was taught in accordance with noninteractive PowerPoint slides in the control group, the same unit was taught by using interactive PowerPoint Slides in the experimental group for 4 weeks. Achievement test, attitude scale and problem solving inventory were used as pretests to both groups. At the end of the study; that there was a statistically significant difference in terms of academic achievement between the groups in favour of experimental group where the courses carried out by using student interactive PowerPoint slides. In the light of the data gathered in this study; it can be said that using interactive PowerPoint slides to teach electrical conduction unit to the secondary school 6 th grade students increased academic achievement; however, it had no effect on students' attitudes towards science and problem solving skills.
