Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the ecological footprints awarenes levels of teacher candidates' who partake in departments of classroom education, pre-school education, social studies education, science education, mathematics education, Turkish education. In order to achieve this goal, this study was conducted with 424 teacher candidates who were at their 4th year of education at Kastamonu University Faculty of Education in 2018-2019 semester. As research method survey method was used. Variables of the research were: gender, undergrauduate programs and the location that was lived in for maximum duration of time by the participants. Research data was gathered via 5 point likert scale "Ecological Footprint Awareness Scale" that consists of 46 items. Gathered data was analyzed with SPSS 22.0 programme. As a result there was no significant difference in the sub-dimension of "energy", "waste", "food", "transportation and housing", "water usage" in terms of different undergraduate programs. There was a significant difference in the sub-dimension of "energy", "waste", "food", "water usage" in terms of the location that was lived in for maximum duration of time. At the same time for this factor there was no significant difference in the sub-dimension of "transportation and housing". For the gender factor, there was a significant difference in the sub-dimension of "waste" in favor of females but there was no significant difference in the sub-dimension of "energy", "food", "transportation and housing" and "water usage".
