Abstract (EN)

Although many studies have been conducted on teachers' knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding the use of smart boards, there is not enough information about their processes of developing digital instructional materials to be used on these tools. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe and interpret teachers' processes of designing and developing their own instructional materials for use on smart board devices. It focused on teachers' experiences such as underlying reasons why they developed their own materials, types of materials they developed, tools and software they used, cases in which they used the materials on their students, and the feedback they received. The study was designed as a case study within the context of qualitative research paradigm and the data was obtained through semi–structured interview forms, analyzed with descriptive analysis, and the results were supported with direct quotations. The findings were summarized and discussed under four main themes as (a) teachers' reasons and motivations for developing digital materials, (b) types of digital materials developed by teachers, (c) factors affecting teachers' digital material development process, and (d) the use of digital materials they developed.
