Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT The purpose of the present research is to find out supervises (teachers) perceptions of supervision activities which have an important role in educational process and to after suggestions based these findings to improve quality of supervision. Teachers were request to evaluate supervision activities these schools with regard to principles of clinical supervision. Evaluation of Supervision Activities Questionnaire ( ESAQ) was used in data collection. ESAQ included 94 five point Likert scale items. Subject ( 1 79) were selected among a population of teachers working in elementary schools in İzmir metropolitan area as to represent school types and socio economic status. SPSS was employed in data analysis. Major finding of the research are: 1. Actual supervision activities in elementary schools aren't similar to clinical supervision activities. 2. Teachers believe that contemporary principles of supervision aren't being applied in their schools. 3. Supervision activities are usually focusing on physical conditions of the classes and schools and on suitability of classroom teaching to the goals of educational system. Other factors which influence instruction are often disregarded. 4. Pre and post supervision conferences with teachers do not take place in supervision. 5. Teachers perceive supervisors an incompetent in improving instructions and helping than its develop professionally. IV
