Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional labor behaviors and organizational alienation levels of teachers. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in different grade in official and private schools in Istanbul in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research sample consists of 308 teachers working in public and private schools selected by the maximum diversity sampling method. Emotional Labor Scale, Organizational Alienation Scale and Descriptive Characteristics Form were used as data collection tools in the research and SPSS 23.0 program was used in the analysis of the data. In conclusion, results showed that there is no significant difference between emotional labor and organizational alienation levels in terms of gender, age, seniority, school type and level. There is a significant difference between the 25 and younger age and other age groups in the meaninglessness and normlessness dimensions of the organizational alienation scale. Moreover, the teachers with 6-10 professional seniority years show significant difference between the groups with 11-15, 16-20, 20 and above professional seniority years, in the deep acting dimension of emotional labor scales. With this, moderately significant negative correlation was found between emotional labor and organizational alienation levels of teachers.
