Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the level of relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational citizenship behaviors by examining whether teachers' organizational cynicism levels and organizational citizenship behaviors differ according to determined variables. The population of the research consists of 7850 teachers working in 356 primary and secondary schools of the Ministry of National Education in Kayseri city center in 2018-2019 academic year. The sample of this study consisted of 475 teachers in 58 schools working in primary and secondary schools in Kayseri city center selected by random sampling method. Brandes, Dharwad and Dean (1999) and developed by Turkey in Kalagan (2009), adapted by the Turkish 13-point three-dimensional "Organizational Cynicism Scale" Yücel (2008) Yucel and Resources (2008) 17 items developed by "Organizational Citizenship Scale "Research data were applied to the teachers by the researcher. As a result of the study, teachers' perception of organizational cynicism in their schools is below the middle level; it can be said that the perception of organizational citizenship behavior is above the middle level. While the relationship between organizational cynicism sub-dimensions with gender, educational status, managerial experiences and different variables was not statistically significant, it was concluded that affective cynicism subscale was significantly higher in favor of single teachers compared to marital status. While the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior sub-dimensions and marital status, managerial experience and different variables was not found to be statistically significant, conscience and self-development sub-dimensions were in favor of men according to gender; it is concluded that there is a statistically significant difference in conscience sub-dimension in favor of graduate level according to education level. In addition, no direct correlation was found between the behavioral and affective sub-dimensions of organizational cynicism and organizational citizenship behavior sub-dimensions. However, it was concluded that there was a positive significant relationship between cognitive cynicism and volunteerism and a negative correlation between cognitive cynicism and sportsmanship.
