The applicability level of the school experience i course for the pre-service teachers of art-work education programme

ABSTRACT THE APPLICABILITY LEVEL OF THE SCHOOL EXPERIENCE I COURSE FOR THE PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS OF ART-WORK EDUCATION PROGRAMME ŞALLI, Gökhan M.A. Thesis, Department of Art-Work Education Science Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Ph.D. Meliha YILMAZ April ? 2007 The aim of this study is to determine the applicability level of the School- Experience I Course for the pre-service teachers of Art-Work Education Program. For this aim to be accomplished, the problems in the application level encountered by the pre-service teachers studying in the Departments of Art-Work Education in Education Faculties are tried to be determined. In this study, a two parted and fifty questioned poll has been applied to a total of 100 pre-service teachers who are freshmen students of the Department of Art-Work Education studying at Gazi University, Faculty of Education, and making the School Experience I applications in totally 7 schools in different socio-economic and cultural environments in Ankara. In order to find answers to the questions such as ?in what limits can the pre-service teachers of Art-Work Education reach the aims that are determined?? and ?can the pre-service teachers of Art-Work Education realize the expected activities in the extent of this course with the criterions determined, or not?? the two parts of the poll have been compared by taking the percentages of the results of the first part and illustrating them with graphics, and by taking the percentages and the frequency of the second part. As a result, it has been established that the applicability level of the School-Experience I Course is low for the pre-service teachers of Art-Work Education Program, as they can not apply the activities in determined criteria and the purposes determined could not be fulfilled.
