The relationship between managerial communication styles of school principals and organizational cynicism levels of teachers

The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between school principals' managerial communication styles and teachers' organizational cynicism levels according to teachers' opinions. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in Anatolian high schools in the central districts of Denizli province in the 2022-2023 academic year. For quantitative data, 306 teachers, who were sent electronically and hand-delivered scales, constituted the sample of the research. General scanning model and relational scanning model, one of the general scanning models, were used in the study. In the study, the Managerial Communication Styles Questionnaire developed by Samancıoğlu and Bağlıbel (2018) and the Organizational Cynicism Questionnaire developed by Kalağan (2009) were applied. According to the results of the research; there was a high negative correlation between school principals' managerial communication styles and teachers' organizational cynicism levels. According to teachers' opinions, it is understood that as school principals' adoption of managerial communication styles increases, teachers' organizational cynicism levels decrease. As a conclusion of the results of simple linear regression analysis, it was found that school principals' managerial communication styles were a significant predictor of organizational cynicism.
