Abstract (EN)
Along with technology's rapid growth, internet has also evolved and become widespread. Social media, which entered our lives with the use of internet, has become one of the indispensable parts of some users' lives. Social medias, used under many different names and many different functions, take place in children's lives as much as grown-ups'. The opinions of teachers and parents about the photos of preschool children were taken in this research. The research consists of the teachers and parents at the preschool institutions which are bound to the Ministry of Education (MEB) in the district of Gaziosmanpaşa in Istanbul province. Containing 25 teachers, 28 mothers, and 20 fathers, 73 people in total have participated to the research, which was made using the convenience sampling method. The data in the research have been collected through interviews and recorded as audio. It has been seen from the results of the research that every participant uses at least one social media platform. In addition to that, it has been seen that the photos of the children taken during class is thought by teachers that it would waste time of the lesson; while it is believed by parents that it would not waste time and they would like to see their children's pictures. Most of the participants (%57,50) argue that the photos posted are a violation of children rights, yet it has been seen that despite their opinion, a significant majority of these participants (21 people) post their children. As a result of the research, it has been suggested to give education to teachers and parents about the usage of social media and raise their awareness.
