The relationship between professional satisfaction and organizational trust level of school psychological counselor

In this study, it was aimed to analyze to what extent the organizational trust and sub-dimensions of school counselors predict their job satisfaction. Besides, it was examined whether the occupational satisfaction of the participants differed according to demographic variables. 151 (102 female, 49 male) people who work with the title of Mentor Teacher/School Psychological Counselor in institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Mersin province participated in this study. The Personal Information Form, Professional Satisfaction Scale and Organizational Confidence Scale have been used in the survey. While t-Test and variance Anavi tests were applied in the statistical analysis of the research, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between professional satisfaction and organizational trust sub-dimensions (trust in manager, trust in colleagues, and trust in stakeholders) and multilinear regression technique was used to determine whether the sub-dimensions of organizational trust predict professional satisfaction or not. As a result of the analysis between the sub-dimensions of professional satisfaction and organizational trust, a statistically significant positive relationship was found at moderate level. As the scores of the school counselors who participate in the research in the sub-dimensions of the organizational trust scale increase, their professional satisfaction also increases. It was seen that the variables of trust in stakeholders, managers and colleagues, which are the sub-dimensions of organizational trust, explained 23.6% of the variance in the professional satisfaction scores, and the variables of trust in stakeholders and trust in managers were significant predictors of psychological counselors' professional satisfaction. For example, since trust in stakeholders and managers predicts professional satisfaction in psychological counselors, it is recommended to support the cooperation of stakeholders, managers and psychological counselors.
