Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the level of belief in myths about gifted students by teachers and school administrators working at pre-school, primary and secondary school levels. In this context, the "Awareness Scale for Gifted Individuals (ASGI)" was developed. Correlational survey model was used in the research. ASGI and "Personal Information Form (PIF)" developed for this research were applied to the participants and the educators' levels of belief in myths were tried to be determined according to independent variables. In order to conduct validity and reliability analyzes of the ASGI, data was collected from 407 participants in the first application using the snowball sampling method, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted with the data obtained, followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with the data collected from 237 participants, and Cronbach's alpha and omega reliability coefficients were calculated. SPSS 21 was used to analyze the data, and t-test for independent samples and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. As a result of the research, it was found that the level of belief in myths about gifted individuals by school administrators and teachers did not significantly differ according to gender, school type, education level and professional experience variables. The research findings were discussed within the framework of the literature and suggestions were presented.
