Because of the traditional structure of the Turkishpeople, social forms are made up both for men and for women. In today?s work life, it iswitnessed that the jobs are diffirentiated as ?jobs for men? and ?jobs for women?.Teaching profession is usually seen as a job for women. In spite of this, in theeducational institutions, women are rarely seen in the administrational position.This research is done, on the base of the views of principals and teachers, toclarify the factors that play role in the demands of the women for the manegerialpositions; and to determine what can be done to make them eager; and makerecommendations towards it.This research was done by holding the point of views of the teachers andadministrators who work in the primary schools in the city center of Bingöl, by meansof a questionnaire. The data which were were obtained from 550 teachers andadministrators -in total- were computed and according to the results, somerecommendations were made.Key Words: School management, female principals, obstacles for managementdemands.
