Abstract (EN)
Sunflower is one of the vegetable oils with the highest nutritional value due to its high ratio of polyunsaturated fatty acids. In the world and in Turkey, varieties with a high content of oleic acid the healthiest type of unsaturated fatty acids —are preferred. The production and cultivation of high oleic acid varieties are popular/promoted in many countries, particularly in America and Europe. The material for this study was provided by the National Sunflower Breeding Project conducted by the Trakya Agricultural Research Institute. A total of 41 sunflower lines, 19 female/mother lines, and 22 male/father lines, were used among the sunflower lines with high oleic acid. 11 TR 077,13 TR 002 and DÜET cultivars were used as control (registered cultivars with high oleic acid). In this study, the genetic identity of 41 parent lines was determined, by using the SSR method, and some yield components e.g. seed and oil yield were examined in hybrids with genetically different distances from genotypes with high oleic acid content. The result of the study showed that hybrid lines with high genetic distance especially in terms of seed yield per plant and thousand-seed weight (G3 K6 ASN X K7 RSN 7/13 (16%) YDAH SN 3/13 X K7 RSN 7/13 (22%)) were performed better and higher than standard varieties. However, in terms of fat ratio, it was determined that there was no difference between hybrid lines with genetically different distances compared with standard varieties.
