Abstract (EN)
Biofilm is a complex cluster of microorganisms in which cells adhere to each other or to the surface on which they form a structural integrity. In this study, essential oils were obtained from cloves and sage with the Clavenger device. The obtained oils are aimed to investigate the microbial biofilm effect created. Priority was examined of the ability of 14 different microorganisms to form biofilms. According to the results obtained, the best biofilm producing microorganisms were determined. The best biofilm-forming bacteria; Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterococcus faecalis. Appropriate conditions were provided for the identified bacteria to form biofilms on 3 different materials (Chrome-metal, Glass, PVC). The microbial biofilms formed were taken in a mixture of 4 different concentrations of Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO), water and essential oil. According to the results obtained in the spectrophotometer, essential oils were found to have an effect on the microbial biofilm degradation. The biological activities on the bacteria used in the current study were determined according to the Disc Diffusion Method, the methods of determining the MIC values.
