Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTIsokinetic Evaluation of Muscle Strength of Shoulders With ImpingementSyndrome. This study was done to determine whether the strength difference betweeninternal and external musculatures of the shoulder is implicated in the presence ofimpingement syndrome.20 patients having impingement syndrome and 20 healthy people wereincluded in the study. Shoulder internal and external rotations were assessed withCybex 6000 isokinetic dinamometer. Low (60 degrees per second) and high (180degrees per second) test speeds were used in measurements. Concentric peaktorques and mean work capacities obtained from the measurements were alsoincluded. Shoulder pain and disabilty index (SPADI) was applied to patient group.Low and high peak torques per body weight and mean work capacities perbody weight were found significantly lower at the patient group's involvedextremities. Low and high speed ER foundings were lower at the involvedextremities. Patient groups' IR / ER peak torque rates were found higher at theinvolved side than the uninvolved one. Torque and work deficits at low and highspeeds were found higher at the patient group. ER deficits were higher than IRs.As a result, the study showed us the strength difference between shoulderinternal and external rotators may be a risk causing impingement syndrome andin the rehabilitation process of this patient group, this difference must beconsidered.Key Words: Shoulder impingement syndrome, isokinetics evaluationXII
