Prof. Dr. Faruk F6rat ÇALIMThe aim of this work is to determine the criteria of computer- aided design ofthe mould used in the production of precast concrete units. For this purpose, modeling of fresh concrete was performed to solve the problem of the effect ofvibration applied on the steel mould during production and fresh concrete-moulddynamic interaction. The study was carried out experimentally and theoretically. Theexperimental part was realized at the production plant of Kambeton Company, bymeasuring the displacement normal to the mould surface at some points selected onthe moulds of two different precast concrete members. The theoretical part wasexecuted using Finite Element Method employed in SAP2000® software. TimeHistory analysis was realized by mode-superposition method, in which load-dependent Ritz vectors and Eigenvectors were used and the obtained results werecompared. The computational results of displacement histories were compared withthe experimental ones and found in good agreement. The algorithm of computer-aided mould design is proposed in the light of the results obtained from this study. Keywords: Precast concrete unit, Experimental measurement, Ritz-vector analysisFresh concrete-mould interaction, Computer-aided mould designII
