Abstract (EN)
In this study, productability of a prestressed steel I- beam and its mechanical properties were investigated. In the production of prestressed I- beams, St 46 plate material and St 37 T- beam were used. While the plate materials were under various tensile stresses (94, 188 and 282 N/mm2) or without stress in the horizontal direction, it was joined to the T- beam by metal inert gas welding. By this method, prestressed steel I- beams which have 55 mm in depth, 50 mm in width, 5 mm wall tickness and 500 mm in length were fabricated. The higgest residual stress and pre-deflection were obtained in minimum prestressed beam whereas with increasing in prestress value, residual stress and pre-deflection were decreased. Bending test results indicated that decreasing the prestress value led to increasing the bending loads. Howewer, it was observed that producing prestressed steel I beam by this method resulted in an increase in bending strenght about 30%.Key Word : Steel Beam, Prestressed, Deflection, Bending Strenght
