Abstract (EN)

When the academic studies and books written for the teaching of financial ratios in the world are examined, it is seen that many classification attempts have been made. When the studies in our country are taken into consideration, it is observed that the quadruple, quintet and sixed classifications are preferred for teaching purposes. However, it is obvious that the logic in these preferences should be supported statistically. In other words, as many ratios can be put forward, which one of these classes is more valid? And even if a choice can be made, is the number of classification and names of the classification are appropriate? In this thesis, it is aimed to reveal a statistical finding about classification (class number and naming). The data includes 52 of the 122 companies that were continuously traded in Borsa İstanbul (BIST) between 2005 and 2015. KMO competence, Bartlett and factor analyzes were performed; It is preferred that the classification of sestet has the highest rate of explanation has become clear that the coverage ratio group has not emerged as a factor and instead market valuation rates should be considered as a factor statistically.
