Abstract (EN)

In this study, the presences of parasites on 103 Leuciscus cephalus from Örenler Dam Lake, Turkey were investigated between July 2007 and May 2008. Five parasite species were identified in the host fishes. These species are Dactylogyrus vistuale (Prost, 1957), Diplostomum sp. (Nordmann, 1832) Bothriocephalus acheilognathi (Yamaguti, 1934), Ligula intestinalis (L., 1758), Pomphorhynchus laevis (Müller, 1776). From these species, D. vistuale was found in gills of 44 L. cephalus (%42.7, 10.6±14.8 parasite/fish), Diplostomum sp. in lens of eyes from 13 hosts (%12.6, 4.1±4.0 parasite/fish), B. acheilognathi in intestine of 24 fishes (%23.3, 4.8±10.4 parasite/fish), L. intestinalis in body cavity of 13 L. cephalus?s (%12.6, 2.1±1.2 parasite/fish) and P. laevis in intestine of 33 hosts (%32.7, 4.6±5.5 parasite/fish). The characteristic structure of this parasite species were described and shown in figures. In addition, minimum-maximum and mean intensity of parasites and infection prevalence were determined using seasonal data and size distribution of the host fish.
