Abstract (EN)
Businesses can only survive when they reach efficiency and effectiveness under today?s intensive competition. Variables related to methods and tools for providing efficiency and effectiveness differ from business to business. Academic researches concentrate on those variables what they are and what they could be. It has been shown that organisational climate and organisational citizenship behaviour positively contribute to organisational efficiency and effectiveness based on the findings obtained from the researches about organisational structure and employee behaviour. It is necessary to conduct researches in Turkey for public sector institutions considering their relative size. Furthermore, problems such as low employee performance and ineffective use of resources, force to analyse extant human resources capacity and organisational structure. At this point, it is very important to illustrate the relationship between organisational climate and organisational citizenship behaviour of employees for managers and decision makers in human research policy making process. This study aims to identify the relationship between organisational climate and organisational citizenship behaviour of employees. Existence of this relationship was investigated by analysing the data gathered from the respondents, those identified by using simple random sampling procedure, in a public institution in Ankara. In the first part, the definition and dimensions of organisational climate concept have been provided based on the studies in extant literature. Following part presented the description and dimensions of organisational citizenship behaviour including evolution of the concept in the literature. The third part attempts to link both concepts organisational climate and citizenship behaviour. Final part examines hypothesis pertinent to the relationship. It has been found that there is a positive correlation (0,475 statistically significant at %5 confidence level) between the perception of organisational climate and citizenship behaviour. Keywords 1.
