Abstract (EN)

There are many professional organizations, business and service branches on the planet we live in. One of the most important elements of these professional organizations is their employees. Employees' commitment to their work and profession has an important place in terms of the quality and service of the work. Research that has been going on for years and sheds light on science and academia on many subjects makes the profession or job more attractive and passionate. In this regard, the organization or service branch you are affiliated with has an important place in making the person's life healthier and bringing benefit to himself, his family, his country and ultimately to all humanity. In addition to organizational commitment, it is a known fact that individuals' positive attitudes towards work provide better service in terms of performance. The fact that the individual is happy and feels psychologically comfortable significantly increases the quality of service he/she will provide. The aim of this study is to measure the organizational commitment and subjective well-being relationship levels of basic education and secondary school teachers. Quantitative research method and general screening model were used in our study. The research consists of n=1655 teachers working in basic education and secondary education in Bitlis. The study started in 2022 and it was aimed to reach the entire population (N = 6251). 26-27% (n=1655) of the universe could be reached. Data was collected digitally with the application named Surveey.com. The survey consists of 3 parts; Demographic characteristics were used in the first part, and the Organizational Commitment scale developed by Balay (2000) was used in the second part, and this scale consists of three dimensions. There are a total of 27 items, 8 items in the "Adaptation" dimension, 8 items in the "Identification" dimension, and 11 items in the "Internalization" dimension. Subjective Well-Being Scale (High School Form) is a 37-item scale consisting of personal judgments and positive and negative emotional expressions regarding the areas that affect a person's life satisfaction. The validity and reliability studies of the Subjective Well-Being Scale, which was developed by Tuzgöl- Dost (2004) on university students, was developed by Özen (2005) and its validity and reliability studies were conducted on high school students. A high score from the scale indicates high subjective well-being, and a low score indicates low subjective well-being (Özen, 2005). The scales of the surveys were applied to the participants between December 2022 and February 2023. As a result, although there are partial differences in the demographic characteristics and subgroups of the participants consisting of basic and secondary school teachers in Bitlis Province, organizational commitment and subjective well-being are significantly high in each demographic characteristic and subgroups.
