Analysis of Orhan Kemal's novel Eskici and Oğulları in terms of syntax

In this study, Orhan Kemal's novel "Eskici ve Oğulları" has been examined in terms of syntax. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the features of the concepts of syntax, sentence elements, sentence types and word groups in Turkish based on Orhan Kemal's novel "Eskici ve Oğulları" in the light of the opinions of experts in the literature and to exemplify them with sentences selected from the novel. In this context, it is aimed to reveal the reflection of Orhan Kemal's language and style features on Turkish and the rich expression potential of Turkish. It is aimed to reach the information about which sentence structures and word groups Orhan Kemal gives more place to in his works, the reflections of the Çukurova reality on the language and to contribute to the syntax studies to be carried out. First, the novel is read from beginning to end and divided into three parts. Sample sentences have been selected. In this thesis study consisting of four parts, the classification in Leyla Karahan's work "Türkçede Söz Dizimi" is taken as basis. In the first part, "Introduction"; Orhan Kemal's life, literary understanding, works, and a brief summary of the work are presented to the attention. In the second section; selected sentences are divided into their elements, and information is given about the elements. In the third section; word groups are defined separately, and the opinions of researchers in the literature about the groups are given. Sentences selected from the novel and word groups are exemplified. In the fourth section, the predicate that forms the sentence is evaluated with sample sentences in terms of its place, type, and meaning. In the conclusion section, evaluations and conclusions regarding Orhan Kemal's language features are given with graphs in the light of the findings obtained in the examinations.
