Examination of employe's perception of the occupational health and safety in the forest products industry

Occupational Safety and Health's implementations reaches the widespread with ever increasing awareness, which aims to prevent the workers from industrial accidents and occupational diseases to work in better safety and health conditions. At this thesis, workers of the Forest Products İndustry, also which is under the Dangerous Class of Occupational Safety and Health, aims to determinate the perceptions of the safety and the accidents. This thesis primarily analysis the historical period of occupational safety and health's implementotions, it's aims and importancy and the result of the work accidents and employee safety. At the second chapter of thesis, the detailed information of the forestry products industry of the world and Turkey is given. At the third and fourth chapter of thesis; workers' awareness and consciousness levels the for occupational safety and health are evaluated by survey form. This study was carried with ( SPSS.22 ) analysis program as a survey on the 108 workers totally. At the evaluation of the data; frequency distribution, confidence analysis, chi square test, T-test, analysis of variance and correlation analysis were used. At the end of the thesis, there is no significant effect of gender factor and mostly injured workers ranges 36 to 40 years old determinated. Also, there is another that there is find out is significant differences of the fatalism variation between the injured employees. The main determination is that the workers who had injured by the work accidents have more fatalistic bliefs.
