Abstract (EN)

Geometry lesson education program (GCDP) development studies which appeared in Turkey as a necessity were realized between the years 2009-2010. This program which started to be applied gradually starting from 9th grade in year 2010 started to be discussed and revised in a short time before it was evaluated depending on learning outcomes due to intensive criticism and resistance from students and their parents. In this research, as it will shed a new light the similar education program development studies in the future, the aim is to examine this assertive but short-lived research which started to be applied in 2010 as it will enlighten the similar education development programs to be performed in the future from psychological, sociological and pedagogical dimensions. This research was performed in 2011-2012 academic years by 7 math teacher in 4 Anatolian high schools located in city of Trabzon, 3 academicians from the GCDP development process and 2 academicians in GCDP revision process. In the research the data was collected through non-structured interviews, quick interviews, observations and documents. The findings obtained as a result of analysis of data were submitted under 4 categories:Change Reflected to GCDP, Change Reflected to Textbook, Expectations / Philosophies / Beliefs Related with GCDP, Opinions about Change and Change Applications. At the end of the research it was determined that philosophy and beliefs of program writers and teachers are not parallel, that GCDP generally fulfills the expectations of program developments and teachers, that reasons of teachers and new program developers related with resistance to change do not overlap with program developers but reasons of teachers and new program developers related with resistance to change. Besides it was also observed that teachers resist to change in-class applications. In education program development process, opinions of teachers related with possible changes were received and suggestions were made so that content and methods will be changed in line with their opinions. Key Words: Geometry Course Education Program, Change, Change Applications
