Abstract (EN)

In this study, the views of teachers working in secondary education institutions on school safety were examined. In addition, it was also examined whether there is a difference in teachers' views on school safety according to their demographic characteristics. According to quantitative research methods, 468 teachers working in Uşak province in the 2023-2024 academic year, who were determined by convenience sampling method, voluntarily participated in the study, which was carried out in the general survey model. The data were collected using a personal information form and the "School Safety Scale" developed by Demirtaş (2007). The data obtained were evaluated in computer environment through SPSS 21.0 statistical programme. As a result of the research, it was determined that teachers' views on school safety were at a moderate level in all dimensions ("Personal Safety of Teachers", "School Safety", "Student Safety" and "Activities for School Safety"). It was found that teachers' views on school safety did not differ statistically according to the demographic variables of gender, branch, professional seniority, type of school they work in and place of residence. In other words, it was concluded that the opinions of female and male teachers, teachers in different branches, with different periods of professional seniority, working in different school types in the province or district centre were at a similar level.
