Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the perceived level of athletic identity and environmental behavior among high school students. The relational survey model was employed. The study group consisted of 389 students attending high schools in Yozgat. The participating students were administered an environmental behavior scale, an athletic identity scale, and a personal information form. In data analysis, Independent Samples t-test was used for pairwise comparisons, and one-way Anova test was applied for other variables. Tukey test was used to identify the source of variance in the conducted variance analyses. Pearson correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were performed to reveal the relationship between the scales. In conclusion, male students' perceptions of athletic identity were significantly higher than females', and imam hatip high school students' environmental behaviors were higher than Anatolian high school students'. Furthermore, students whose mothers had a university degree or higher perceived their athletic identity significantly higher than students whose mothers had only primary or middle school education. There was a weak positive relationship between students' perceptions of athletic identity and their environmental behaviors. Athletic identity positively influenced environmental behavior at a rate of 6,8%. Keywords: High school students, Athlete identity, Environmental behaviour
