Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the texts in the Turkish Course Book of 5th Class with semantic methods and to detect the elements in the texts which have antonymous meanings. Additionally, this research aims to determine the suitability of these texts with the Turkish Curriculum published in 2015. In the research, firstly; the topics such as language, native language, vocabulary, and meaning were mentioned and then elements having antonymous meanings in the Turkish Course Book of 5th Class were analyzed by being examined in terms of lexical semantics. Semantic features of indicators in the texts were determined and the frequency of occurrence of those antonym signs was analyzed. Finally, it was tried to determine the suitability of antonyms which are detected by taking elements having antonymous meanings and frequency of occurrence of those elements into consideration with learning outcomes of the Turkish Curriculum. The research is important in terms of determining the suitability of the texts in the Turkish Course Book with learning outcomes in the field of reading/vocabulary which are only found in 5th Class learning outcomes in the Turkish Curriculum.
