The examination of antisocial behaviors in secondary school students

In this research where antisocial behaviors in secondary school students were examined, whether antisocial behaviors showed a significant difference in terms of gender, grade level, perceived academic achievement and perceived socioeconomic level; family support, family control, peer relations, academic competence and social competence variables are aimed to reveal their power to procedure antisocial behaviors. The study group of the study consists of a total of 802 (415 girls, 387 boys) secondary school students studying in 9 different secondary schools in Nevşehir city center in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study, "Personal Information Form" prepared by there searcher to collect personal information of the participants, "Peer Relationship Scale" developed by Kaner (2000) to determine peer relations, "Efficacy Perception for Adolescents" developed by Özer et al. (2016) to determine the levels of "Self-efficacy Scale" and "Antisocial Behavior Scale for Secondary School Students" developed by there searcher to determine antisocial behaviors in secondary school students were used. SPSS 25 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained within the scope of there search. A t-test to determine whether antisocial behaviour in secondary school students showed a significant difference by gender; One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine whether antisocial behaviors showed a significant difference according to class level, perceived academic achievement and perceived socioeconomic level variables. Multiple regression analysis was performed to reveal whether the other independent variables of the study, family support, family control, peer relations, academic competence and social competence variables predicted antisocial behaviors in secondary school students. As a result of the analyzes, antisocial behaviors in secondary school students did not show a significant difference in terms of gender; It was concluded that there was a significant difference in terms of grade level, perceived academic achievement and perceived socioeconomic level. In addition, according to the multiple regression analyze, it was seen that family support, family control, peer relations, academic competence and social competence variables significantly predicted antisocial behaviors.
