Investigation of secondary school students of general environmental information level

Abstract: Environment and education are top topics of global issues. The common characteristic of individuals with sensitive environment in the society that they are environmentally conscious. The aim of this study was the Environmental Education to students since an early age, General Environmental Knowledge levels of students affected and General Environment how to examine information from students. In this study, screening method is used as research method. The study covers of a total of 601 secondary school students from Grade 8 in the secondary schools in Kastamonu province during 2014-2015 academic year. The relevant test of success was developed for students to apply to. The situation has been evaluated by analyzing data based on achievement test results with students. The issue has been evaluated with the family status scale under four basic dimensions and students' awareness's to the recycling and environment were found to be directly related to the economic structure of the family , with the level of education and taking preschool education . Recycling and energy subscales were found to be inadequate. Key Words: Science education, environment, environmental education, 8th grade middle school students
