Abstract (EN)

One of the main objectives of Turkish language education is to improve students' language skills. Among these skills, writing is a critical component in which students learn to express their thoughts in written form and use language effectively. In order to make writing instruction more meaningful and functional, it is essential that writing activities are meaningfully connected to the texts and themes presented in textbooks. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which writing activities in middle school Turkish textbooks are related to the texts and themes within the books. The study was conducted using a basic qualitative research design, which is a type of qualitative research method. The data sources of the study include the 2019 Turkish Language Curriculum, the 2024 "Century of Türkiye" Maarif Model, and middle school Turkish textbooks published by the Ministry of National Education for the 2024–2025 academic year. A researcher-developed analysis chart was used to evaluate the relationship between writing activities, texts, and themes. The data were collected through document analysis and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings show that while a significant number of writing activities are meaningfully related to the texts and themes, a notable portion lacks contextual integration. This indicates a need to reinforce text-theme coherence in the planning and design of writing activities. Key Words : Writing Activities, Turkish Language Education, Textbooks, Text, Theme.
