Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT A SITOTAXONOMIC INVESTIGATION ON SPIDERS (ARACHNIDA: ARANEAE) AKAN, Zübeyde M.Sc. Dep. Biology. Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÖZASLAN September, 2004, 51 pp. This study has been carried out to analize the methods of the appropriate chromosome when the morphologic, anatomic character is not suitable to identify and classify the spiders. Subadult and adult specimens were used as a material. Different tissue samples were delivered from taxons and studied to carry out which method were more succesfull. For this reason, ovarium and testis were dissected out and chromosome preparates were prepared. In this study, it has been determined that in Lycosidae family from which diploid chromosome number is 12 in ovarium taken from subadult female Arctosa perita (Latreille, 1799) and diploid chromosome number is 18, in testis taken from subadult male Lycosa narborensis (Walkenaer, 1806). On the other hand; this value was determined as 2n = 16 from Theraphosidae family in subadult female Chaetopelma anatolicum (Schmidt, Smith, 1995). But, the total length of chromosomes is less than 2 urn. So the measurements of morphometric characters were not made. Key Words: Sitotaxonomy, Araneae, Lycosidae, Theraphosidae
