Faunistic study of Bahçe, Düziçi and Sumbas districts of Osmaniye province in terms of Helophoridae, Hydrochidae and Hydrophilidae (Coleoptera) families

In this study, samples of Hydrophilidae, Helophoridae and Hydrochidae families were investigated in Bahçe, Düziçi and Sumbas districts of Osmaniye province. The examined samples were collected between May and September of 2020 and between April and October of 2021, from different streams, streams, spring waters, moist habitats, vegetation near the shore of small ponds and ponds with the help of different equipment. While no species belonging to the Hydrochidae family were found in our study area, 20 taxa belonging to the Hydrophilidae family and 5 taxa belonging to the Helophoridae family were identified. Of these species, male individuals of Helochares pallens (MacLeay, 1825) were recorded for the first time from Turkey. Chasmogenus livornicus (Kuwert, 1890), Helophorus aquaticus (Linnaeus, 1758), Anacaena lutescens (Stephens, 1829), Coleostoma (s.str.) orbiculare (Fabricius, 1775), Laccobius scutellaris (Motschulsky, 1855) 1771), H. obscurus (Müller, 1776), Hydrobius fuscipes (Linnaeus, 1758) are given for the first time both in Osmaniye and in our study area.
