Abstract (EN)

Wastewater pollution inventory and analysis of Osmaniye city has been investigated during this study. Relevant literature survey, concerning labaratory and field studies are wastewater characteristics and sedimentation which were carried out in this study for identifying the characterisation of municipal wastewater and effects of treatment yields. In the municipal raw wastewater of Osmaniye Region dominated concentrations vary between; 128 mg/L TSS, 250 mg/L COD, 117 mg/L filtered COD, 1 19 mg/L BOD5, 1 lmg/L TKN ve 3,3 mg/L TP. After filtration of raw sewage average 46 % of COD was measured to be due to SS. In this study, the wastewater samples were let to settle for the retention periods of 1 5, 30, 60 and 120 minutes and COD concentrations were observed in 300 ml wastewater which taken from supernatant. Average 75% of SS was removed after settling time of 120 minutes. As a result of this study, stabilization ponds will be the most capable system either from economical point of view or for given maximum treatment capacity.Key Words : Municipal Wastewater, Wastewater Treatment, Stabilization Ponds.
