Abstract (EN)

In nature, every element has been created to suit humanity and human needs, with plants being at the forefront. Some plants are used as food, while others are used as a source of healing in traditional medicine due to their therapeutic properties. Recent studies on the active ingredients found in this unique plant confirm the idea that it could be a remedy for many human diseases. This study aims to determine the quantity of antioxidant substances in black seed (Nigella sativa) produced in Osmaniye and to find out if there is any regional variation. The seeds contain an average of 25% to 38% fixed oil, alkaloids, proteins, saponins, and a volatile oil content that varies between 0.3% and 2.5%. The upcoming academic study intends to reveal the richness of black seed's content and contribute scientific data to the literature. Additionally, measuring radiation activity concentration will address a significant gap in this area. The literature review conducted aims to increase researchers' and local farmers' interest in black seed. This study will also evaluate heavy metal analyses and radionuclide concentration activity in products grown in the province of Osmaniye.
