Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the effects of the Automatic Meter Reading System (AMRS) method, which was developed to reduce electricity loss and leakage rates, on the detection, monitoring and prevention of electricity loss / leakage processes were investigated. AMRS system is generally used with modem and GSM lines that provide communication, measurement counter and interconnection cables. The main purpose of the system is to read the meters of the subscribers remotely, to detect or help detecting of the loss and leakage rates, and to monitor the daily consumption of the subscribers. In order to see the effectiveness of the method, Çal and Dumlupınar Neighborhoods, which have high loss/leakage rates in Siirt province under normal conditions, were determined as pioneer neighborhoods and the necessary data were obtained by actually conducting the studies in these areas. These data were evaluated and interpreted graphically. As a result of the evaluations, it has been seen that the developed method is highly effective at reducing the loss and leakage rates, on average of 86%. It has been concluded that this method has a positive effect of approximately 45% on the subscriber collection efficiency.
