Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY MSc Thesis THE EXAMINATION OF THE WEAR BEHAVIOURS OF THE AUSTENITIC MANGENESE STEELS Hüseyin TURHAN Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Metal Education 1 994, Page; 4? Wear is an important problem occuring in the machines and tools used in industry. So it is expected a machine or a tool to have a long life beside its low cost. In this study the wear resistance behaviours of the austenitic manganese steels in various compositions (Mn 12-14 %, Mn 16-16 %) were investigated experimental}' by applying impact laads in various numbersVI with respect to the hardness and the martensite layer forming because of the laads applied. With this aim in the first chapter the general information about wearing were given. In the second chapter the wear resistance materials and austenitic manganese steel were presented in the nest chapter, the information about, test equipment were given., then the results from the tests applied on both the manganese steel with Mn 14,5 S> and the one with Mn 16 % heat treated at 1.0 30 °C and 1010 °C and subjected to the impact laads and then imposed to the abrasive wearing in various time and distances were evaluated by comparing with the data from literature.
