Abstract (EN)
In this study, a total of 100 ear swaps were collected from owned cats with otitis externa in the region of Izmir province and bacterial isolation, identification and antibiotic susceptibility were detected. The microorganisms isolated from these ear swaps are Coagulase Negative Staphylococci (11%), Staphylococcus aureus (4%), Corynebacterium spp. (4%), Escherichia coli (2%), Pseudomonas spp. (%2) Bacillus spp. (1%) Shigella spp. (1%) Serratia liquefaciens (1%) respectively. There was not detected any bacterial growth out of 74 (74%) specimen. While the isolates examined in this study were found susceptible to Erythromycine in the ratio of 84.6 %, the isolates were also found resistant to Sulbactam-Ampicillin in the ratio of 88.4 %, resistant to Amoxicilline clavulanic acid in the ratio of 84.6 %, and resistant to Gentamicin in the ratio of 73 %.
