Comparison of project management methodologies for projects in automotive industry

This study focuses on the comparison of project management methods used in projects carried out in the automotive sector according to critical success factors. To determine the critical success factors, studies in the literature were examined and 6 critical success factors were determined by interviewing with subject matter experts. These factors are scope, time, cost, project team, organizational culture, and sustainability. Multi-criteria decision-making methods were investigated for the identified critical success factors. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used because it is easy to understand complex problems with its hierarchical approach, it is suitable for multiple evaluations, and it can test the hierarchical model. The survey method was chosen as the data collection method. Survey was conducted with professionals from different countries, different companies, and different level of experience. The results of the evaluation of success factors and project management methodologies with the help of 2-way comparison matrices are analyzed and appropriate project management methodologies are proposed.
