Abstract (EN)

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease is the most common hereditary kidney disease with renal and non-renal findings. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated the clinical and laboratory features of patients. In this study; we included 267 patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease who were admitted to the Nephrology and Hypertension Outpatient Clinic of Uludağ University Medical Faculty for the last 5 years. Renal and extrarenal features of the patients with demographic data were recorded. Of the 267 ADPKD patients included in the study, 128 (%47,9) were male and 139 (%52,1) were female. The mean age of the males was 45 ± 14,4, and the mean age of the females was 47 ± 13,3 years. The mean age was 46 ± 13,8 years. There was a significant relationship between hypertension and obesity and hyperlipidemia in the patients. The incidence of hypertension in obese patients was 4 times higher than those without obesity. The incidence of hypertension in patients with hyperlipidemia was 5-fold higher than in those without hyperlipidemia. A significant correlation was found between nitrogen retention and hypertension. Nitrogen retention rate was 8 times higher in patients with hypertension compared to those without hypertension. In the significant relationship between urinary tract infection and nitrogen retention; the rate of development of nitrogen retention in patients with urinary tract infection was 2 times higher than in patients without urinary tract infection. In addition, the incidence of liver cysts, which is a non-renal manifestation of the disease, was 2 times higher in women than men. When the clinical and demographic characteristics of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney patients are examined, the most common clinical finding was hypertension. It should be treated aggressively with both obesity and hyperlipidemia, which is a serious risk factor for both renal progression and cardiovascular disease.
