Examination of mobbing, anxiety and work motivation levels of private and public sector teachers

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of mobbing, anxiety and work motivation levels of private and public sector teachers. Besides, the effects of variables such as individuals' sex, age, marital status, income level, school type, weekly working hours on mobbing, anxiety and work motivation is examined. 100 private and public sector teachers who are working in Besiktas providence of Istanbul is participated to the research. Also, according to identify socio-demographic characteristics of the participants, personal information form is made by researcher. When investigated socio-demographic characteristics of the participants, it is found out that private sector teachers have higher internal motivation and trait anxiety levels than public sector teachers, and they more likely to be exposed to emotional harassment (mobbing). It is examined that when teacher number is more than 30, private sector teachers' internal motivation levels decrease than public sector teachers. There was no meaningful results for socio-demographic features that take a part in the research, such as individuals' sex, age, marriage duration, children number or income level. In addition, it is examined that as private sector teachers' state anxiety levels increase, their trait anxiety levels increase too; and as their internal motivation levels increase, their external motivation levels increase too. As public sector teachers' state anxiety levels increase, their trait anxiety levels increase too. In the last part of research, the result have been discussed being with the research findings and there have been proposed some suggestions to families and psychological counselors working on this field.
