Burnout levels of teachers working in private educational institutions (Rehabilitation) and state schools

This research aims to determine the burnout levels of teachers who work for private educational institutions and state schools. Also, whether burnout levels differ depending on gender and demographic variables. Depending on the Ministry of Education; private educational institutions and state schools based on the opinions of teachers will be explained burnout levels in relation to demographic variables. The scope of the research consists of 110 teachers; 55 teachers from private educational institutions and 55 teachers from state schools. The research was carried out with 110 teachers who work for private educational institutions and state schools in İstanbul. Schools are Çiftoğlu Private Educational İnstitution, Terapedia Pediatric Private Educational İnstitution, Yaman Private Educational İnstitution, Altın Adımlar Private Educational İnstitution, Mavi İklim Private Educational İnstitution, Bayrampaşa Aliya İzzetbegoviç Imam Hatip Girls High School and Şehit Kamil Baykan Primary School. The subjects of the research are randomly selected. In the research, following tools are used as data collection: Personal Information Form, developed by the researcher; the 'Maslach Burnout Scale' in order to quantify the level of burnout in teachers developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and adjusted to Turkish by Ergin (1992). In data analysis, Mann Whitney-U Test, Kruskal Wallis H-Test, Factor Analysis, Two Way Anova Test and Spearman Correlation were used. According to the research results, It has been found employees who work in state schools have higher levels of depersonalization than who work in private educational institutions. Employees who work in private educational institutions have higher level of burnout than who work in state schools. Key Words : Teacher, Burnout,School
