The profile of private primary schools teacher

The aim of this study is to identify the profiles of the teachers who work at private elementary schools.With the frame of his prime aim, teacher?s demographic characteristics, socio-cultural positions, and also their intrapersonal professional views have been considered while identifying their profiles. Their intrapersonal professional views have been examined according to varieties of their age, length of service at private schools, the type of their graduate-school, level of income, whether thay are branch or class teacher.In this research, the teachers who work at private elementary schools that take place in the city of İstalbul in Marmara Region in 2008-2009 academic year have formed the universe of the study. 406 teachers are chosen by propertional illustration have constituted The illustration of the research. The survey used in the research as a medium for gathering datahas has been developed by the researcher by examining the related literature, scanning the researches and having experts? opinions. The prime application of the evaluation medium has been completed in a private elementary school and its reliability has been approved.At the end of the study, it has come out that most of the teachers? ages are between twenty-one and forty-one, they descibe their economic level as medium and over half of the teachers are married and have a car. They know the foreign languages at medium level. The result of the research shows that the teachers who are over 50 years old, have a better communication skills comparing to the teachers who are between 21 and 30 years old. Moreover, teachers who are between 21 and 30 years old ,have a better computer skills comparing to the teachers who are over 50 years old. It is clear that communication skills and occupational profiency has changed according to the income level in a positive way.Key Words: private primary school, teacher, profile
