Abstract (EN)

This thesis study addresses the topic of "Design of a Gravity Separator for the recycling of Two Different Metal and Non-Metal groups". While examining an important issue regarding sustainable recovery of metals, it also aims to reduce the environmental impact of waste. Gravity separation technology is used to separate different materials by using differences in density. This study designs a gravity separator that applies this principle to effectively separate and recover two different metal groups. The designed separator uses its mechanical principles to optimize both efficiency and environmental impacts. The thesis involves both theoretical and experimental methods. Firstly, existing gravity separation technologies in the literature have been examined in detail. Then, an original gravity separator has been designed for the effective separation of two different metal groups and simulations of this design have been carried out. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the design have been tested experimentally. In line with this study, the aim is to separate mixed copper and aluminum parts with a capacity of one ton per hour and send them for processing as pure granular raw material. Following the completed design, it is aimed to recover approximately 2000 tons of product in waste form per year.
