Noyan O?ULATA Blending of different fibers is done to enhance the performance and improve the aesthetic qualities of the fabric. Thus, the more desirable features of the constituent fibers in blending can be incorporated. Blended yarns from natural and man-made fibers have the particular advantage that they successfully combine the properties of both fiber components, e.g. comfort in wear with easy-care properties. These advantages also enable variety of products and a good market position. The aim of this study is to predict quality features of cotton / polyester blended rotor yarns with parameters of blend ratios and yarn count. An experimental design procedure is used to determine the mixture ratios of the fibers. Simplex lattice design with two replications is used for this study. Prepared cotton / polyester blended slivers were used to produce rotor yarns with five different counts on a laboratory type rotor spinning machine (quickspin). The response variables of interest are quality properties of blended yarns. The usual approach to analyzing of mixture experiments included process variables is to fit the combined model. In this study, mixture-process crossed model with two mixture components and one process variable that is yarn count was used to predict response variables. All calculations were performed on the software named Design-Expert. Key Words : Fiber Blends, OE Rotor Yarns, Blended Yarn Properties, Optimization of Blending, Experimental Design. V
