Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the body appreciation of male bodybuilding athletes according to various variables. In the study, the athletes' anxiety scale about contracting the new type of coronavirus and the body appreciation scale were used as data collection tools. The sample of the study consists of 210 male bodybuilding athletes between the ages of 18-60, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the research, reside in Istanbul, and participated in the competition in the last 5 years. SPSS 26 package program was used to analyze the data in this research. As a result of the calculation of Cronbach's Alpha coefficients, the two scales appeared to be free from errors, thus strengthening the assumption that they are highly reliable. As a result of the analysis, it can be said that bodybuilding athletes have a high level of body perception and are also undecided about the anxiety of catching COVID-19. According to the results of the correlation analysis, it was observed that the age, marital status, educational status, monthly income level, year of training, national team presence status, physical appearance satisfaction and body mass index variables of the research group did not significantly affect the body liking status and COVID-19 infection anxiety levels.
