Abstract (EN)

In this study, duration of corn drying in paraboloid based spouted bed by hot airflow is investigated. Experiments were conducted at minimum flow rates which able tocreate spouted bed and, three different temperatures 55°C, 75°C and 95°C which differentvalues to achieve humiditiy 14% secure storing damp from 20% - 40% humidity (drybased). Furthermore, a draft tube is applied to the system and and drying performances ofthe system with and without draft tube were compared. The experiments were conducted toinvestigate the effects of bed heights on drying duration at three different bed heights at75°C.During the experiments, corn drying durations in paraboloid based spouted bedwith and without draft tube are measured. The shortest drying time is obtained withoutdraft tube and for 95°C drying gases temperature. It is observed that drying durationincreases with draft tube usage. Furthermore, another result observed that the different bedheights do not effect drying duration distinctly.
