Abstract (EN)
Particle accelerators have many scientific and technological applications in basic and applied sciences. High-energy accelerators are capable of producing radiation fields of high energy and high intensity, mixed with photons and neutrons. Protection against these radiation fields can be effectively achieved by attenuating the radiation to acceptable levels with appropriate thickness and proper types of shield materials, which can be placed either locally or as structure housing. Shielding material has been used such as concrete, iron, soil, lead, polyethylene materials. A required thickness of lateral shielding can be obtained by means of Moyer model. In this study, we determined the thickness of minimum lateral shielding which were two types concrete, two types soil and one type iron in different density for non-designed, supervised and controlled area as a function of proton energy.Key Words: Proton accelerators, shielding, shielding materials, Moyer model.
